7th Non-Violence day and Mahatma Gandhiji Birthday celebration 2016 Nataraj Youth Cultural Organization celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday and international non-violence day on October 2, 2016 in the region of Huron County Museum. This event was attended by many honorable guests and speakers. The program started with the president and founder of NYCO, Chintan Bhavsar who welcomed all the esteemed guests and explained the importance of this day. It was then followed by a speech by the Mayor of Goderich, Mr. Kevin Morrison. The rest of the speakers included a representative from Mr. John MPP Lisa Thomson’s office, Dr. Gezahgn Wordofa from the Multicultural Association Perth Huron and Mr. Kaushik Patel Clinton. Honorable John McKay MP, NYCO President Chintan Bhavsar, President of Living and Being Foundation Mr. Subhash Gandhi. The program started with light up dive and Indian and Candadian National Anthem recital. NYCO president Chintan Bhavsar delivered a speech followed by Dance on patriotic song choreographed by Maharshi Bhavsar of Nataraj Academy. Honorable MacKay delivered a speech as well. 5th Non-Violence day and Mahatma Gandhiji Birthday celebration 2013 The Nataraj Youth Cultural Organization (NYCO) celebrate October 12 as Non-Violence Day at the Gore Meadowvale community center, Brampton. Apart from speeches on the importance of non-violence, a peace walk was also organized to mark the day. Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell, Akhilesh Mishra (Indian Consul General), Councilor Raymond Cho (Scarborough), Dr. Rama Singh (Professor at McMaster University) Sudhaben Vajeria, Gujarati writer Jay Gajjar join community leaders and guests joined the Canadian groups in observing the day.
