October 2, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, also designated by UN as Non Violence Day, was celebrated today in a grand fashion at Thistle town Community Centre, Etobicoke in Toronto, with a GANDHI WALK (Albion and Islington Square Help of Toronto police) , Art- Exhibition(Journey of Mahatma Gandhiji’s life and thought of non-violence), and a Cultural Program(Subhash Gandhi sang the famous song “Bapu ki amar kahani” and Maharshi Bhavsar performed an amazing dance on Gandhi’s favorite bhajan “Vaishnav Jan te tene kahiye”)
Dr. Raymond Cho, Councilor Raymond Cho Ward 42 Scarborough-Rouge River, Toronto opened the Art Exhibition on Life of Mahatma Gandhi stressing the need for non-violence in our society as preached and practiced by the Mahatma Gandhi.
Dr. Ron Harris who is known as Dadaji, he is a homeopathic doctor, highly educated and a philanthropist personality.
Light up Diva, who walked with Gandhi in India on his famous ‘Walk to Dandi’ related his experiences while in company with Gandhi. Mrs. Sudha Ben, great granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi and Ms. D. Charandasi from the Consul (Inf & OCI) & Head of Chancery Toronto, also attended the event.
